  1. WAYNE,

HAPPY LEI DAY TO YOU TOO! WAS A BUMMER EVENT HERE AT REDEEMER HOME YESTERDAY. I WORE MY HANDMADE LEI SHIRT ALONG WITH SEVERAL LEIS AND THIS PLACE HIRED A HULA DANCER WHO LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS 6 MONTHS HAPAI AND IT TOOK HER SO LONG TO SET UP HER STAGE FOR HER ACT. WELL SHE DID SOME FIRE DANCING BUT NO MUSICIANS FOR MUSIC JUST A TAPE PLAYING. I WOUND UP GOING BACK INSIDE TO MY APT AND WATCHED TV. THE “VIEW” SHOW HAD A HULA HALAU AND THEY WERE GOOD. HERE THEY WANTED PEOPLE TO WEAR HAWAIIAN OR FLOWERED TOPS BUT HARDLY ANYONE DID. SO I WOUND UP WATCHING MY SOAP OPERA BEFORE GOING DOWN FOR DINNER.

  2. I commend you for having the energy and spirit, to celebrate island traditions from afar. Sorry to hear about you Redeemer experience, and the lack of participation from your peers. Thing is, you can’t force others to reach your level of joy in something like this. Aloha doesn’t live everywhere. You showed your spirit, and that’s what matters most. You go, girl
